Hello and welcome.
My name is Annie Ricketts and I have been supporting people living with the outcomes of brain injury, and their families and friends, since 2004. I am the founder of ‘The Inside of Brain Injury,’ and ‘Global Brain Injury Awareness.’ and have the support of many volunteers and organisations across the world that we partner with.
I started out supporting other people in 2010 with email and snail mail and people found me via an article that was published in the Headway Magazine (the UK based support organisation). People passed my details onto other people and my mail sack was always full.
Also in 2010, my daughter introduced me to Facebook and from there I eventually founded Global Brain Injury Awareness,(GBIA) a Facebook open community page, and The Brain Injury Global Picnic, a website hosting an annual international awareness event. The ‘Global Picnic’ will be one of a number of events that we will run under the new not-for-profit ‘Global Brain Injury Awareness CIC.’
I act in an administrative role in a number of Facebook support groups and have restarted The Inside of Brain Injury – you can find me there…
I have plans to grow all of this work and to do much more and to continue with my passion for change. Nobody should be left behind…
